This year's theme, "My Community," is in line with the company's centennial celebration to instill among the young how VMC values the community and how involving the youth in their own communities will eventually empower them to have a stake in nation-building through the arts.

The competition, which started in 2013 and expanded to Negros Oriental in 2016, has become a venue for aspiring student artists to hone their craft, be recognized, and be given a chance to be part of a growing art community in Negros that will ensure continuity of our arts, culture and heritage.

There are two categories this year; Interschool Elementary for Grades 1 to 6 and Interschool Secondary for Grades 7 to 12.*
