IFUGAO boxing sensation Carl Jammes Martin continue his winning ways after stopping another Filipino during the weekend.

Martin stopped Benezer Alolod of Polomolok in the 7th round on Friday, September 20, at the city hall grounds in Mandaluyong City and bag the vacant Philippines Boxing Federation (PBF) bantamweight title in the event promoted by Yolanda Alfante of Shock Punch Promotions.

The 20-year-old Martin started the 7th round with a barrage of left-right combination before closing the bout with another combo to stop the fight and earn his 14th victory with 13th knockouts, while Alolod suffered his 13th loss against 19 wins and 5 draws.

In June this year, Martin easily disposed Yuttichai Wannawong of Thailand in the 1st round after another impressive victory against Pethchorhae Kokietgym of Thailand in the third round of their fight on February 16 at the SM City North Edsa Skydome, Quezon City.

The undefeated 20-year-old also scored a technical knockout against Hashimu Zuberi of Tanzania in the second round to win the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental Youth bantamweight title in the April 28, 2018 fight in Lagawe, Ifugao.

He knocked out Indonesia’s George Lumoly to win the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) Asia bantamweight title on June 21, 2018, in Lagawe and retained the WBO Oriental Youth bantamweight title by retiring China’s Huerban Qiatehe in the second round of the August 28, 2018 fight in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

Martin also kept his WBA Asia bantamweight championship by knocking out Moon Chul Suh of South Korea on October 27, 2018, in Lagawe.

The Ifugao slugger earlier admitted he is in no hurry to seek a world title bout.

“Sa ngayon hindi pa po ready for world championship. May three years pa po tayong kailangang more experience bago mapasabak sa championship. Hindi naman po matagal kasi para sa paghahanda po ng katawan ko para ready sa championship,” said Martin in an earlier interview.

Although Martin is being compared to Senator Manny Pacquiao, he said he never intended to mimic the eight division world champion because it’s his natural move.
