Ajah, for traffic-free CDO

I AM not really fond of writing, I would rather read a book or watch a show (TV, film, concert, etc..). I was dumbfounded when my friend told me to try writing a column. I never thought in my wildest dream to write seriously where everyone can read and form their own opinion on my POV (point-of-view).

Why is it that traffic law enforcers are not to be found in every thoroughfare in the city? Like in the street coming from Lim Ket Kai passing Pearlmont and then going to Cogon. There are cars parking as well as street vendors selling on the street, that the four lanes were cut in two, which eventually lead to traffic congestion.

Maybe, the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) should check and monitor these busy streets every day. Barangays concerned should also make sure that these streets are free of vendors since they are the ones allowing these people to sell. The barangay is also responsible in cleaning the area as garbage and wastes around have become an eyesore. And lastly, the barangay must reprimand and rescue children who are running around in these busy vicinity.

Moreover, the traffic light in that street from Pearlmont going to Cogon public market is almost always turned off every rush hour. Why is that? It is causing major traffic and headache for motorists.

On the other hand, motorists should maintain discipline and stop being impatient and resort to cutting into line of vehicles, special mention to all motorcycle drivers who like to do this without giving signals. It is reckless.

Why don’t our City Government be more vigilant and strictly enforce the traffic rules and always assign RTA personnel in the main roads? Why don’t our barangay officials help in road concerns since they also know what is happening in their streets?
