P400-M legislative building to connect to city hall

THE P400-million seven-story multi-purpose Legislative Parking Building will have a foot bridge connected to city hall for easy access to clients.

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas said the project’s funding is included in the supplemental budget with approval of the city council.

He wants to fast-track construction works set to start by yearend.

The two floors will host the city councilors’ offices for them to have bigger ones compared to the limited space at sixth floor of City Hall.

The new facility will also have three elevators for convenience of transacting public.

The proposed edifice will be constructed beside Ker and Co. heritage building behind City Hall.

The first floor will host city offices so that it will be easier for the public to transact business.

The second to fifth floors will be designated as parking spaces. It will have an area of 1,000 square meter per floor that can accommodate 25 cars or a total of 100 cars for four floors, the mayor added.

“We want to provide parking spaces for the use of everybody,” Treñas said. (PR)
