More jobs expected as JiProp expands biz in condo, resort

THOUSANDS of jobs in the retail and hospitality industries are expected to be generated by the real estate projects under Jiprop Development Corp. namely, J Tower Residences and Jpark Panglao.

Jiprop chairman Justin Uy said the rooms in the 40-storey J Tower Residences were sold at a fast rate, which is a reflection of Mandaue City’s high demand for residential projects.

“JTower was 80 percent sold out in just four months without even having any advertisement. It was very silently made but we were able to sell it,” Uy said during the opening of the indoor Pororo theme park and the 10th anniversary of Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019.

The P2-billion residential building is set to cater to Filipinos, Japanese and Koreans. The tower is located at the back of J Center Mall along A.S. Fortuna St. in Mandaue City.

With more than 1,200 rooms, the location of J Tower Residences proved to be strategic as buyers prefer to live in areas where every establishment is within their reach to avoid getting stuck in traffic, Uy said.

“The location is so good. It is just 15 minutes to the airport, 10 minutes to the Cebu City shopping malls, and all the restaurants are there. All the schools are within five kilometers, so it’s practically a very ideal place to stay,” he said.

Uy said this development will contribute to the communities in Mandaue City as more jobs will be generated in the retail sector to serve the growing number of locals and foreigners who are expected to stay in J Tower.

“J Tower will have its own community. More shops will be opening there to cater to their needs, and with more shops, you will be hiring more people and getting more supplies,” he said.

Hiring in Panglao

Uy also said they are in the first phase of hiring workers for their P12-billion JPark Panglao project in Bohol.

“With our Bohol opening, we would need almost 3,000 employees there,” Uy said.

JPark Panglao is set to be completed in 2022.

It will be thrice as big as Jpark Mactan with twice as many rides, five buildings and 1,400 rooms, including 80 family, pool and ocean villas.

“We believe that tourism will propel the economic growth of the country this year,” said Uy.

He said the company is capitalizing on the opening of the New Bohol International Airport in Panglao to bring in more foreign tourists to the province.

Uy added that the presence of direct flights to Cebu and Bohol have become an important factor in the company’s growth direction. (with KOC)
