A 23-YEAR-OLD pregnant woman working for a mall in Barangay Mabolo was arrested by her workplace's security on Tuesday afternoon, September 23, 2019, after she was found to have stolen a pair of panties worth P149.

Daisy (not her real name) can only shed tears before police officers of the Mabolo Police Station as she faced jail time for a crime that, for her, she did not mean to commit.

She is worried on the prospects of going to jail especially that she is four months pregnant.

Security personnel of the said mall arrested Daisy at noon Tuesday, September 24, after she was caught stealing a pair of underwear at her section.

But Daisy said that at that time, she accidentally found the pair of panties so she can use them to wipe her armpits because she failed to bring her handkerchief when she went to work.

She was only surprised that a security guard assigned at her section had confronted her on what she was using to wipe her armpit.

She was surprised to find a pair of undies.

As she was being investigated by the mall's security personnel, Daisy asked to be forgiven as she did not mean to steal it.

But the mall's management decided to file charges against her.

"Wala to nako ma tuyo. Tungod lang gyud nga nahadlok nako dihang gipangutana ko," Daisy told SunStar Cebu.

Daisy was brought by security personnel to the Mabolo Police Station at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Daisy will have to spend some jail time for a few days until she can post bail for her crime. (From BBT of Superbalita Cebu)
