CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Lubao town's Escolastica Romero District Hospital (ERDH) won this year's Hospital Star Award 2019.
The award was presented to Governor Dennis Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia Pineda by officials of the Department of Health (DOH) on Monday, September 23.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III conceptualized the DOH 30 Star Awards in 2018 to encourage both private and public hospitals to continuously improve their service and to enhance their compliance to regulatory requirements.
The hospitals were scored according to the criteria set under the following categories: safety and infection control, service provision, customer and employees satisfaction, community-based projects/programs, and quality improvements.
In a statement, the provincial information office said the Health Facilities and Services Regulatory Bureau (HFSRB) of the DOH cited ERDH for its commitment in upholding quality healthcare for the people.
DOH Assistant Regional Director Juliana Reyes commended ERDH for its exemplary efforts in realizing the visions of the department for the people.
ERDH was among the top 10 hospitals that received the DOH 30 Hospital Star Awards 2019 last September 17 at Pearlmont Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.
Other nominees for the same award were Romana Pangan District Hospital (RPDH) in Floridablanca and Dr. Andres Luciano District Hospital (DALDH) in Magalang.
