FOR Negrosanon ladies, President Digong may not be the ideal husband or father. His "gift of tongue" is compromising. He does not kill but his words and mind can. His "Dutertest" will measure the dignity of a Negrosanon ... by not necessarily becoming Digong.
President Digong expects a Negrosanon not to become a thief... a government official who is not involved in graft and corruption, a businessman who does not have a double entry in his book of accounts, a manager who pays his employees what is allowed by the law.
He wants us to cross the pedestrian lane, a Negrosanon who does not spit just anywhere or urinate against the wall. He prefers that we work within what we know, not just wailing and complaining on what life can't offer and what the government can't do. Of course, he does not want us to be late in office or pretend doing something while in office.
The President is asking if you have fooled a fellow Negrosanon or hurt a lady. He hates if you are a drug dependent and you kill someone. He does not even want you to betray your friend, much more if his wife is beautiful. Making "tsismis" should not be in your vocabulary.
You don't even talk just to destroy someone or you spread wrong information. Love your being a Filipino as you love your country next to God. You should not be in the street doing nothing. Go home and do something worthwhile. If you are driving your brand new car or your "kuliglig," just the same, follow traffic rules. If apprehended by traffic enforcer, do not bribe him.
If you are having a transaction in a government office, do not deal with a fixer. Pay your taxes on time or better before deadline. If you are a government official, show to your employees that a public office is a public trust. You should not enrich yourself at the expense of the government.
At any rate, a Negrosanon is not a carnapper, not a snatcher, not a kidnapper, not a member of a "riding in tandem," not a member of a syndicate, and not a land grabber. A Negrosanon hacendero does not take advantage of the small farmers. He sees to it that the socio-economic condition of his workers is not what God wants.
A Negrosanon worker does not cheat in his work. He provides his children the money that comes from the sweat of his brow. A Negrosanon family cares for the welfare of each other by building a sweet home together.
The policemen and the military who work in Negros should remember always that they are here to serve, to protect and to treat every Negrosanon with justice and dignity. There should be the rule of law and not the rule of might. This is a "Dutertest" for Negrosanons. I hope you can tell the President that you pass his test.
