Guv lauds Converge for assisting Tarlac SMEs

TARLAC Governor Susan Yap commended Converge ICT (CICT) Solutions Inc. for assisting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the province.

The governor cited the internet firm's contribution to the economic growth of the province.

"I would like to appreciate and acknowledge the concern, initiative and efforts of the Converge ICT Solutions Inc. in the expansion of their social corporate responsibility and providing assistance to our SME's in the province of Tarlac," Yap said during the SME Engagement held on Tuesday, September 24, at the Provincial Capitol of Tarlac.

The event was attended by Converge ICT President and CEO Dennis Anthony H. Uy; Victoria, Tarlac Mayor Christian Yap representing Tarlac Governor Susan Yap; Mayor Doña Tesoro of San Manuel, Tarlac; Mayor Estelita Aquino of Moncada, Tarlac; PCEDO head Marvi Dela Cruz (PCEDO Head); CICT Tarlac head Michael Lopez; and representatives of the Tarlac Chinese Chamber of Commerce, SMEs, and other business groups in Tarlac.

Yap said that as key drivers of the emerging economies vis-a-vis the rapid increase in digitalization that occurs across almost all business sectors, SMEs are greatly challenged in transforming their enterprises.

"Shifting into innovative and technologically-advanced mechanisms by tapping into digital trends will further enhance their growth and strengthen their competitive edge to increase profitability," the Tarlac governor cited.

"With transformative technologies, our SMEs should accept and adopt the idea of a 'Game Changer' which is characterized as a massive undertaking. There is a need to take a long-term view of their resource investments, including the need to depart from the traditional models to reboot themselves," Yap added.

She urged the SME's to maximize their service delivery mechanisms that will enable great chances of expanded conversation and problem free-user experiences.

"Through this, one of the goals of SMEs, which is the provision of high-quality service, will be achieved. It is a fact that the brackets of customers in this day and age, most especially the younger generations, have higher service expectations. This will serve as a 'push factor' for every SME in elevating their ability in maximizing their service delivery," she stressed.

The governor said digitalization will contribute to building greater linkages and connectivity within the broader environment.

"This will pave the way in creating better opportunities, new product's design and style, capitalizing external expertise, and collective innovation, at the same time pursuing markets and customers," she pointed out.

She cited that the provincial government's common goal of inclusive and sustainable development is not far at hand as the people need to broaden their minds, uphold values, and adapt to complex changes.

"The presence of modernization is the prime result of our fast-changing environment. SMEs should revitalize their competitive scheme by continuously increasing their performances in transforming digital vision into a concrete reality," Yap stressed.

For his part, Uy said the activity marks an important event as they get closer to a "Digital Tarlac."

"Since going full-throttle with our fiber network roll-out and package offerings, the change in the overall performance of internet in the Philippines has been noticeable, the average of which has risen to 18 Mbps. CICT does not take full credit. But the company's contributions are undeniable," he said.

He added that Converge has basically covered the province with activated fiber networks in Bamban, Capas, Concepcion, Gerona, Paniqui, Victoria, Tarlac City, La Paz, Sta. Ignacia, Mayantoc, Camiling, and San Clemente with ongoing roll-outs in Pura, San Jose, San Manuel, Anao, Ramos, and Moncada where a total of 138,009 lines have been rolled out.

"Converge ICT is committed to massively investing in Tarlac and have been integral in the digital transformation of the Province of Tarlac. We are working closely with Governor Yap and her team who has been spearheading the digitalization efforts in support of her vision for all of you to provide fast, reliable, consistent, and efficient service. This vision needs reliable connectivity. And our pure fiber network can deliver that," Uy stressed.

He explained that SMEs can utilize Converge iBiz, pure fiber internet designed to take businesses to the next level with premium lines dedicated to ensure that their business operations are digitally maximized and thus, empowering SMEs.

The Converge official said they want nothing but the very best for the Filipinos and have taken it upon themselves to be the local world-class internet service provider.

"This is our commitment to you: to serve the underserved and un-served. Let us use technology to be what it has been set out to be: to make information more readily available, services faster, communities safer, and life, in general, better. Today, we claim our commitment to help propel Tarlac businesses forward. Today is for you as we get closer to a Digital Tarlac," Uy said.
