NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson has issued an order to the Provincial Engineering Office to check and remove illegal structures along the roads leading to the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan in Bacolod City.
Lacson said he had just discovered that the roads leading to the park are considered as provincial roads and are therefore included in the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) memorandum circular.
Lacson has also entrusted the matter to DILG-Negros Occidental in order to ensure the road clearing operations in the province's cities and municipalities are carried out by their respective local officials.
DILG Provincial Supervisor lawyer Ferdinand Panes said he has given until noon time of September 27 for the validation team to submit reports about the compliance of the local government units in the province relative to the clearing operations.
