LAWAAN 3 advanced to the semifinals of the Seniors division of the 2019 Talisay City Mayor’s Cup after they ousted Tabunok, 113-90, in the quarterfinals on Sept. 26, 2019, at the Talisay City Sports Complex.
Lawaan 3 overcame a sluggish start that saw them trail by 11, 17-28, after the first period, with a massive run in the second and third periods where they outscored Tabunok, 71-37, to take an 88-65 lead heading to the final canto.
Jomari Mellabangco led Lawaan 3 with 27 points while former Adamson Baby Falcon Denzel Sabroso added 17 markers. Joshua Mellabangco chipped in 16 even Lloyd Ederiano and Jerome Isarael had 14 and 13 points, respectively.
In the Open division, Paragsa claimed another win, this time taking down Khecel, 108-97. Allan Sala was virtually unstoppable for Paragsa as he tallied 24 points while Ruben Ludovice and James Ferraren helped out with 16 and 14 markers, respectively. (JNP)
