THE Brokenshire College of Toril (BCT) collected five gold medals in the recently-concluded Davao Association of Private Schools and Administrators (Daprisa) Games 2019 badminton competition at the Smash N' Drop located along San Pedro Extension, Poblacion District, Davao City.

BCT's Jemaeca L. Canonigo and Chanel Daphne A. Madellin combined forces to demolish their Collegio de San Ignacio (CDSI) rivals, 21-3, 21-9, in the elementary girls doubles championship match while Angelo Elijah Doverte and Earl Gabryle G. Puerto turned back their Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School (PNJKIS) opponents, 21-5, 21-11, in elementary boys doubles finals.

BCT shuttler Kristian Paran also hogged the limelight by outlasting teammate Rophe Paniamogan, 12-21, 21-14, 21-17, in their elementary boys single titular clash. The latter settled for silver instead.

Jasmine C. Batersal and Frances Jhan E. Durango, for their part, clinched the secondary girls doubles gold after whipping PNJKIS, 21-13, 21-17, while Kassandra Nicole C. Bangcal emerged elementary girls single champion after recovering from a first set lost against a Precious International School of Davao (PISD) rival, 9-21, 21-12, 21-15.

BCT assistant coach John Rey Nanca said, "They are just reaping what they sow during training and the strong will to win for Brokenshire College Toril."

The team has been training three hours per session since June on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

The Daprisa winners will represent Unit 8 in the upcoming Davao City Athletic Association Meet 2019, which serves as qualifying for the Davao Region Athletic Association Meet 2020.
