Eyelash extensions vs lashlift

After lashlift procedure.

HAVING long, thick and curly lashes is what some girls have been wishing to have.

For many girls, gorgeous lashes could make an outfit complete. We feel that what we are wearing could become better if we have voluminous and curled lashes. We also believe that our makeup is never complete until we have our lashes done.

Personally, I have already tried the two famous procedures for lashes – the extensions and lashlift. For someone who has short lashes, waking up “more” beautiful each day is surely a good thing.

Both the eyelash extensions and lashlift saved me time whenever I prepared for work. I no longer needed to put on mascara and used a curler to beautify my short lashes.

In this article, I will share with you my personal experience and, probably, help you decide which one to pick:

Eyelash extensions

Pros

• Numerous options. One can choose the length, volume and even the curl of the strands to be used. I usually picked the 10mm size with CC curl. As to the number of strands, I was not so particular. I just looked at the mirror to check if it was already good enough.

• More affordable. With less than P1,000, I already had my lashes done. At present, there are beauty shops which offer eyelash extension for as low as P250. I am not so sure, though, of the quality of hair they use.

Cons

• Glue. The adhesive they use may cause discomfort for you. However, this would disappear once the glue is dry.

• Short life. The extensions only stayed for two weeks. In fact, they were only gorgeous for a week.

• Ugly. My lashes looked ugly whenever the extensions started to fall. There were even instances when the only ones left were those in the middle. Can you imagine how crazy I looked then?

• Lash fall. I observed that my original lashes were falling off together with the extensions over time. The ending? It took me three months to grow them again.

Lashlift

Pros

• No discomfort. When I had lashlift, I never had any discomfort during and after the procedure.

• Long life. Mine lasted for at least four weeks.

• No ugly, uneven look. I never experienced lash fall after I had the procedure. Therefore, my lashes looked good during the entire four to six weeks after the procedure.

• Natural. Since no extensions were added, my lashes looked naturally curled.

Cons

• Pricey. A lashlift procedure costs more than P1,000, and this could even be higher if you have it done in high-end beauty hubs.

• Limited. The length and volume are dependent on one’s lashes.

Verdict

If I were to choose between the two, I would go for lashlift. It could be more expensive, but it lasts longer and it does not cause damage to the natural lashes. Thus, you get more value for your money.
