THE undermanned 2009 Legacy pulled off a stunner of a win as they took down the 2008 Flyboys, 68- 66, in Division 3 of the University of San Carlos North Alumni Basketball Club 2019 Cebu City Mayor’s Cup on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at the USC North Campus gym.
Former USC Warriors wingman Dominic Adlawan led the charge for the Legacy as he compiled 22 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block to hand the Flyboys its second straight loss.
In the other Division 3 game, the 2010 Pioneers prevailed over the 2007 Waybus, 55-39, as Julius Asotigue had 20 points and six rebounds.
In the Seniors division, the 1986 Siargao crushed the 1982 Golden Warriors, 100-61, thanks to Arturo Mata’s triple-double of 22 points, 12 rebounds, 12 assists to go with a steal and a blocked shot. The 1988 Barakos also vanquished the 1990 Titans, 66- 61, with Dindo Sausa presiding over the winning effort with his 23 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks.
Then, in Division 1, the 1998 Sipat took down the 1999 NinetyNiners, 64-57, as Cromwell Po led the winners with an all-around effort of 12 points, five rebounds, two assists, three steals and a block. The 1996 Chubbies also won over the 1993 Little Rascals, 68-46, thanks to Joshua Lerio’s 16 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals. The 1995 Pirates also edged the 1993 Dragons, 74-73.
Finally in Division 2, the two teams of Batch 2001 were victorious with the 2001 Shipmen crushing the 2002 Goats, 58-46, while the 2001 Builders defeating the 2002 Lions, 72-58. (SunStar Cebu)
