Moira to showcase ‘Braver’ version in Cebu concert

AS ANOTHER season comes in, singer-songwriter Moira Dela Torre embraces this new phase in her life. What seems to have broken Moira in the past, turned out to be fragments for a whole new masterpiece.

With Moira’s upcoming sophomore album, which will include her latest song, “Patawad, Paalam”—a collaboration with I Belong To The Zoo—the singer-songwriter headlines another solo concert series entitled ”Braver Moira.”

In a digital press conference last Sept. 27 at the Wish 107.5 bus at Cebu IT Park, the 25-year-old shared about the upcoming concert and new album. She said that her “Malaya” album was inspired by Autumn; The season of Fall, and learning the art of letting go.

Her upcoming album and concert series is inspired by the Winter season. Moira explained how Winter is about embracing decisions from the past and going through it despite the consequences. With this, she believes that it takes bravery and courage to persevere, and that conceptualized the idea for “Braver Moira.”

“Winter really does make people brave. It’s that season where people want to decide that no matter how cold it is, ‘I will persevere and I will do what’s right for me. I will be where I’m safest but at the same time I will take risks.’ It’s that season where you acknowledge the pain. You know the pain is there. You don’t deny it but you persevere, even while feeling that pain, and that’s what ‘Braver’ is all about,” she shared.

Moira is very excited for the Cebu leg of her concert series which will happen this Oct. 25 at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino with Aiza Seguerra, I Belong to the Zoo, Kurt Fick and Kim Baluzo as special guests.

“Cebuanos can expect authenticity and just realness from me. I admit I’m not the strongest singer. I’m not the strongest performer. But I am a really strong songwriter, and I know I’m a great story teller. That’s what they can expect,” she said.
