Woman linked to investment scheme shot dead

A REAL estate broker, who was allegedly involved in an investment scheme in Davao del Norte, was shot dead on Monday afternoon, September 30, in Purok 3, Peñano St., Calinan, Davao City.

Based on a report provided by Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Police Captain Nolan Tagsip, the victim was identified as Elizabeth Lanticse Mantalaba, 29.

She was married and a resident of Purok 2, New Visayas, Panabo City.

Tagsip said the victim succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds in her head. The gunman has not been identified.

“Initial investigation disclosed that an unidentified male shot the victim, who was opening her Toyota Hilux door, in the head twice using a .45 caliber pistol. The suspect then immediately escaped onboard a motorcycle heading to an unknown location driven by another person,” Tagsip said.

During the investigation, it was learned that the victim had received death threats. These were recorded at the Panabo Police Station blotter.

The victim was said to have a real estate and school supplies business store and allegedly was a manager/franchisee of RTM Investment Scheme in Panabo City.

“We are looking into possibility na it might be yong mga member na may grudges na wala nakadawat og return of investment na 3x to 5x as promised sa mga members,” Tagsip said.

Recovered from the scene were two fired cartridges and one fired bullet, all from .45 caliber pistol. The victim’s remains are at Angel Funeral Parlor, Calinan Davao City.
