THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-Cordillera arrested 22 drug suspects and confiscated 66 sachets of shabu and 31 bricks of marijuana in its Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations (Sacleo) in the region.

Last September 29, a drug pusher identified as Arturo Apolinario Bullo, 46, a resident of Km. 4, Asin Road, Baguio City, was killed after he fought it out with operatives during a drug bust in Banangan, Sablan, Benguet.

In Tabuk City, Kalinga, four individuals were caught in a checkpoint operation in Talaca, Agbannawag in the evening of September 28.

The suspects were identified as Joseph Caluma Saldana, and three minors, all residents of Antipolo, Rizal, who were aboard a public utility jeepney that was flagged down by police.

At least 31 bricks of dried marijuana leaves and stalks worth P3,720,000 were confiscated from the four suspects.

In Baguio City, six individuals were captured after they were caught in the act of having a pot session along Avelino Street in Barangay Andres Bonifacio, Baguio City on September 24.

The suspects were identified as Dan Allen Abellera alias Danny, Mario Cariaga, Ricardo Capilitan, Romeo Salting, Christoper Antero and Maria Capilitan.

Their arrest was made possible after one of their companions, identified as Jovan Genove, was caught in a drug bust and revealed about the ongoing pot session.

Confiscated from Genove were 10 small heat-sealed plastic sachets of shabu, a buy-bust money and assorted drug paraphernalia.

On the same day, drug pushers Jeson Aquino Pertubal, 29, and Jaime Asqata Apellido, 36, were arrested in separate operations.

Pertubal was apprehended in the afternoon at Maharlika Livelihood Complex Parking Lot, Baguio City, where two sachets of shabu, a buy-bust money and drug paraphernalia were confiscated from his possession.

Apellido, on the other hand, was nabbed in Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet. Confiscated from him were three heat-sealed sachets of shabu, one cellular phone and P1,000.

PRO-Cordillera Director Israel Ephraim Dickson said the result of the Sacleo was commendable. He encouraged police officials to continue to conduct case build-up against drug personalities in the region and to let all those involved be subjects of police operations.
