Bagtik View: The newest attraction in Negros Occidental

IT WILL only take you 30 minutes to see this God's wonderful creation.

Recently, I and my fellow outdoor enthusiasts went on a day hike to Bagtik View, the newest discovery and tourist attraction at Sitio Sampung, Barangay Nataba, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

Bagtik View is not only for those who love to climb mountains but also for beginners who wish to jumpstart their hiking adventures.

From Bacolod City, we rode a bus from South Ceres Terminal at 3:45 a.m. The air-conditioned bus fare is only P125. The driver dropped us off at Merkulesan, where the jump-off started.

We started hiking at 6 a.m. We were in the middle of our hike when it drizzled but it did not stop us from moving until we reached our desired destination.

The trail features jaw-dropping hill formations, beautiful landscapes, grassland, pine trees and a lot more. Our hearts were captivated by the beautiful scenery as we ascended to the peak.

The hike would generally last for 30 minutes but because of the Instagram-worthy view along the way, we had to stop for a photo opportunity from time to time.

You don't have to be strong or skillful to reach Bagtik View because the trail is well-established, easy, and wide.

We were glad because there were people living in the mountain who opened their doors for us when the rain started to fall. They also serve native coffee for only 15 pesos and boiled eggs for 12 pesos each.

From the summit, you'll get to see the overview of San Carlos City, the Sipalay Island, and Cebu. You can camp on the area or stay overnight if you want to see the fog and enjoy the blinking stars.

You would appreciate more the beauty of the place when you descend from the peak because of its interesting and breathtaking views.

Tour guide service was made available at 50 pesos for each tourist.

Go on an adventure and start ticking your bucket list off while you are still able and have the strength and power.
