A LABORER was arrested after allegedly raping a 23-year-old call center agent in Cagayan de Oro City over the weekend.
Police identified the suspect as Arjay Tomines, 30, a resident of Barangay Bulua.
The victim was on her way home from work when Tomines emerged from behind and threatened her with a barbeque stick.
Tomines then proceeded to drag her into an abandoned house at around 12 midnight on September 29, 2019.
Police said the victim was able to shout and call for help. Fortunately, a barangay tanod was nearby leading to the arrest of the suspect.
Tomines is currently detained at Cogon Police Station and is facing rape charges, a non-bailable offense.
