Premier Volleyball League to play in Bacolod on October 13

THE Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Open Conference will be in Bacolod City on October 13 at the University St. La Salle (USLS) Coliseum.

Bea Tan, PVL on Tour organizer and former volleyball player from University of St. La Salle (USLS), said the PacificTown-Army will face the BanKo Perlas at 2 p.m. while Creamline Cool Smashers will face the PetroGazz at 4 p.m.

“We are very thankful for hosting again the PVL here in Bacolod City to treat the volleyball fans in Bacolod and Negros Occidental. It’s also one way of showcasing the accelerated growth of volleyball and the homegrown talents,” she said.

Tan added that some of the PVL players are also part of the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games 2019 in November.

In 2017, PVL also held its game in Bacolod City.

The PacificTown-Army players are Christine Agno, Joanne bunag, Mary Jean Balse-Pabayo, Jem Nicole Gutierrez, Alyssa Teope, Jovelyn Gonzaga, Alina Bicar, Angela Nunag, Dahlia Cruz, Nerissa Bautista, Honey Tubino, Lutgarda Malaluan, Jeannie de los Reyes, and Sarah Jane Gonzales with their head coach, Emilio Reyes Jr.

BanKo Perlas players are Roma Joy Doromal, Cherilyn Jhane, Suzanne Roces, Mary Mae Tajima, Angeline Marie Gervacio, Ma. Gizelle Tan, Jorella Marie de Jesus, Princess Balang, Katherine Bersola, Jamenea Ferrer, Ana Gopico, Rose Mary Cailing, Nikka Sophia Yandoc, and Nicole Tiamzon with their head coach, Apichat Kongsawat.

PetroGazz players are Cherry Rose Nunag, Djanel Cheng, Jessey Laine De Leon, Stephanie Mercado, Relea Ferina Saet, Jeanette Pnaga, Maricar Baloaloa, Rica Jane Enclona, Alyssa Layug, Jonah Sabete, Cienne Mary Cruz, and Jovielyn Prado with their head coach, Arnold Laniog.

Creamline players are Kyle Negrito, Alyssa Valdez, Coleen Bravo, Heather Guino-o, Risa Sato, Michele Gumabnao, Fille Saint Merced Cayetano, Ma. Paulina Soriano, Kyla Atienza, Julia Morado, Rizza Mandapat, Jessica Galanza, Rosemarie Vargas, and Melissa Gohing with their head coach, Anusorn Bundit.

On October 6, the first PVL Youth Festival will also be held at St. John’s Institute in Bacolod City, sponsored by the PVL.

Malot Lozada, PVL Youth Festival director, said this will be under-12 elementary girls and they already invited several schools in Bacolod and Negros Occidental.

“We hope to have 16 teams and we will modify the games because it’s only a one day game and the teams will be required to bring their seven players,” she said.

She added she is hopeful that the PVL Youth Festival will continue in Bacolod City next year.
