THE Cebu Youth Basketball League is launching the first leg of the Under-10 3x3 games at the Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts along General Maxilom Avenue on Saturday, October 5, 2019.
A total of 18 teams would be participating in the first leg as the league is aspiring to make the game both more fun for the youngest age group of basketball and give them the chance to hone their skills.
“The 3X3 approach is intended to provide under-10 age group players the chance to harness their skills in a more appropriate venue vis-à-vis having them play the full court five-on-five game,” said Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas official Rey Cañete
While the teams will play in a round robin series of games, there would be champions in this event, which is in line with the main objective of having the players work on their basketball skills.
Participating in this event are teams from Ateneo de Cebu, Talisay City, Carmen Christian School, University of San Carlos-South, Carmen Christian School, St. Benedict Child Education Centre, PAREF Springdale, Basak San Nicolas and the University of Southern Philippines Foundation.
The series will be played be played between the months of October until March 2019. (JNP)
