WITH Morris Garages’ latest roll-out, it’s either go big or go home. The all-new MG 5 is big on size and even bigger on features but without the hefty price tag.
The model was first launched during the opening day of the 2019 Cebu Auto Show last Sept. 13 at SM Seaside City Cebu’s Sky Hall.
Although categorized as a subcompact sedan, the model is relatively bigger compared to its competitors. In fact, it is currently the longest and widest model in its class; plus it has the longest wheelbase, which means generous legroom for both front and back passengers.
The MG 5 uses a 1.5 liter DOHC 16v engine, with either a five-speed manual transmission or a CVT gearbox with manual mode.
More than just fuel efficiency and size, the MG 5 is decked out with an impressive set of features. For the one behind the wheel, features like the push start/stop button, a power seat, 360-degree vehicle view and automatic headlamps make the drive easier.
On the comfort side, passengers can rest assured that a ride on the MG 5 will not be a dull one. There’s a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, luxurious leather-style seats and Electronic Climate Control for utmost comfort.
Aside from city driving, the MG 5 is also great for road trips. Weather-permitting, open the electronic sunroof to add a sense of airiness to the vehicle. Plus, there’s 512 liters of trunk space to put in your luggage and other bulky items for your getaway.
The MG 5 is also well equipped with safety features such as driver and passenger airbags, four-wheel disc brakes, Hill Start Assist, Auto Break Hold, Cruise Control, Tire Pressure Monitoring System and a reversing camera.

The MG 5 is available in six colors: Moon White, Meteorite Black, Carbon Gray, Extreme Speed Red, Morning Gold and Laser Blue.
