Cops arrest 13 'wanted persons' in 1 day

AT LEAST 13 wanted persons were arrested and one voluntarily surrendered in simultaneous police operations around Eastern Visayas Thursday, October 3.

The arrested persons are facing murder, attempted homicide, theft, robbery, and anti-fishery law charges, among others.

In Baybay City, police nabbed Enrique Alicame, 53, by virtue of an alias warrant of arrest dated September 4, 2004 for attempted homicide, with a recommended bail bond of P12,000.

The Saint Bernard Municipal Police Office in Southern Leyte arrested Jayson Teroy, 35, for alleged theft.

Also nabbed was Engelita Samson, 60, by virtue of a warrant of arrest for violation of the bouncing checks law.

In Northern Samar, personnel of Laoang Municipal Police Station arrested Jimson Tuba, 31, by virtue of a warrant of arrest for robbery.

The Catarman Municipal Police Station arrested Glenda Moreno, 41, for violation of Section 2(a) in relation to Section 3(a) of BP 33 as amended by Presidential Decree 1865 (illegal trading in petroleum and other petroleum products).

In Bobon town, police nabbed Rowell Velasco, 20, for theft.

Tacloban City Police Station-2 operatives, led by Captain Daniel Polo, arrested Antonieto Gomez, 39, for murder.

The Lawaan Municipal Police Station arrested Renato Ogsila, 30, and Alberto Pajarilla, 48, by virtue of a warrant of arrest dated September 16, 2019.

Ogsila and Pajarilla are facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree 705 or Revised Forestry Code.

In Daram, police arrested Jeric Aday, 26, for violation of Section 95 of Republic Act 8550 otherwise known as "Philippine Fisheries Code of 1998."

In Kananga, Leyte, police arrested one Jason Daang, alias "Osting," 30, for theft.

In Gandara, Samar, police nabbed Juan Abadiano, 39, the province's number five most wanted person, for murder.

In Tunga, Leyte, police arrested Alberto Tumandan, 39, for violation of Republic Act 9262 also known as "Violence Against Women and their Children."

Meanwhile, Irwin Belleza, 21, voluntary submitted himself before the MacArthur Municipal Police Station in Leyte.

Belleza has an existing warrant of arrest dated October 1, 2019, for "robbery with force upon things." (SunStar Philippines)
