Man with unlicensed firearms apprehended

AUTHORITIES apprehended a man for possessing several unlicensed firearms during the implementation of a search warrant in Caraga, Davao Oriental Thursday morning, October 3.

The local police unit in Davao Oriental, together with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and Philippine Army, arrested a certain Harry Lagungan Masugod, 45, a resident of Sitio Dangilas, Barangay PM Sobrecarey, Caraga, Davao Oriental.

The search warrant against Masugod was issued by Judge Emilio Dayanghirang of the Regional Trial Court Branch 32 Lupon, Davao Oriental for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Seized from the suspect were a caliber 357 revolver with six pieces of live ammunition, one air gun rifle caliber .22 loaded with a pellet, a small pouch for air gun ammunition with 22 pellets, a caliber .38 ammunition, three pieces of 12 gauge shotgun ammunition, two pieces of caliber .56 ammunition and three pieces of rifle grenade with one plastic container.

After further investigation, it was learned that the suspect has pending cases of carnapping, coercion and estafa.
