ZAMBOANGA City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar has ordered the temporary lifting of the "No Parking" policy effective Thursday, October 3, 2019, in view of the ongoing Zamboanga Hermosa festivities.

The highlight of the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival, which officially started on October 1, is the feast day of Our Lady of the Pillar on October 12.

"We will revert to the previous on-street parking pursuant to the existing ordinance," Salazar said with the concurrence of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Salazar said the existing ordinance that allows certain streets as parking zones remains valid until amended.

The City Government had imposed the total "No Parking" policy in the city in compliance with the DILG Memorandum Circular 2019-121 to clear all roads of illegal structures and constructions. (SunStar Philippines)
