THE University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Baby Panthers made mincemeat out of the Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Baby Wildcats, 88-70, in the 2019 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (Cesafi) high school basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum on Saturday, October 5, 2019.

The win bumped USPF’s record to 5-2 (win-loss) putting them in prime position to snag one of the slots in the Final Four.

Elijah Singson led the Baby Panthers’ scoring parade with 14 points and four rebounds. Three others scored in double-figures in the one-sided match.

Elian Yap registered a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds while veteran wingman Christopher Isabelo added 13 markers to go with his four rebounds. Crafty point guard Kyle Ochavo was his usual productive self, filling up the stat sheet with 12 points, four rebounds, six assists as well as three steals.

CIT-U, which won its very first game but has since lost four in a row, fell further to the bottom of the standings at 1-4. (SunStar Cebu)
