THE family of the late Philippine Military Academy (PMA) 4th Class Cadet Darwin Dormitorio is poised to file charges against those behind the death of the 20 year-old plebe.
"We still haven't filed the case, as much as possible we want it [case to be filed] to be complete, as airtight as possible," Dexter Dormitorio, brother of Darwin disclosed in a media interview in Baguio City on Thursday, October 3.
He called for justice for all perpetrators in the slow death of his brother. "Gusto namin na lahat ng may sala kailangan managot ay mapanagot ng batas na mayroon tayo," he said. (We wanted that those who are involved should be charged.)
Dormitorio’s lawyer, Jose Adrian Bonifacio, said the basis of the compliant are sworn statements and other evidences gathered by the Philippine National Police (PNP).
“We want to make sure lahat ng ebidensiya na na-gather ng Philippine National Police. And we also want proper charges will be well-defined," Bonifacio said.
"I can confirm na hindi lang iisang kaso ng krimen and i-fifile," he added.
Baguio City Police Office director, Police Colonel Allen Rae Co, on Thursday said prior to their investigation there are seven cadets and two medical personnel that are already identified as suspects.
The slow torture maltreatment started in Dormitorio's room on the night of August 19 by his fellow cadets.
Co disclosed a taser-flashlight was used against Dormitorio.
Dormitorio was officially declared dead at 5:15 a.m. of September 18.
