Sales agent admits killing ‘sex partner’ amid threat

THE suspect in the killing of a woman in an inn in Cagayan de Oro City said he accidentally killed the victim when she threatened to sue him for rape if he refuses to pay P5, 000 for her services.

Police identified the suspect as 25-year-old John Michael Alfeche, a resident of Luyong Bonbon, Opol, Misamis Oriental.

Alfeche is a sales consultant in a hardware store in Barangay Bulua.

Police Major Evary Bacunawa, Opol Police chief, said he was arrested on Friday afternoon, October 4, after one of the Opol policemen recognized the suspect from the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of the inn.

In an interview, Alfeche admitted hiring the victim Samira Marayan for sex, but that he did not mean to kill the victim.

He said he panicked when Marayan suddenly demanded to pay her P5, 000, an amount he did not have.

Alfeche said he insisted to the victim that he already paid P1, 500 to the pimp, but Marayan allegedly asked for another P5,000 or else she would sue him for rape.

Panicked, Alfeche said he shoved down Marayan's head onto the bed and tied her on it so that she could not follow him.

Alfeche claimed she was still alive when he left, claiming he “barely hurt her.”

Bacunawa said they will file murder charges against the suspect Sunday, October 6, 2019.

“Sa mga gabuhat aning mo-hire og babaye, akong message ninyo, undang nalang gyud mo,” Bacunawa said.
