OUR flight to Jakarta, Indonesia was scheduled to depart Manila at 8 p.m. Arriving at around noon time from Davao City, we spent most of our time at the Manila Life Cafe by Marriott Manila at Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

The cafe has been designed to look like a lounge similar to those airline loungers at the departure area. This makes Manila Life Cafe just the right place to kill some time before boarding.

There is a variety of seating options one can choose from. There is a long table that is great for groups. There are some tables for two along the glass wall that is great for solo diners or couples. Near the comfort room, there are some sofa chairs where you can comfortably spend your time. You can also opt to sit at the bar, where you will also find a flight board.

The cafe offers Filipino dishes that they put a bit of a twist on.

For my meal here I ordered the Manila All Star Sunrise Bowl and the Marriott Blend Milk Tea.

The Manila All Star Sunrise Bowl includes homemade pork longganisa, beef tapa, pork tocino, sunny side up egg, garlic rice, tomato-salted egg relish, and fried eggplant with a side of toyomansi, spiced vinegar, and atchara.

This is one big bowl of happiness that is great to start your day or, in my case, satisfy my cravings and get me full before my flight. My favorite were the tapa and tocino, which were tender and had a wonderful balance of sweet and salty. The longganisa was garlicky but I find it to be a bit dry.

The Marriott Blend Milk Tea was also quite good. It was a refreshing drink to beat the heat of Manila and also the airport, which was quite warm during the afternoon before our flight.

Manila Life Cafe was a nice place to spend our time before we boarded our flight. The food is on the pricier side because it is in an airport but the serving is quite generous. The quality of the food is quite good too. Hope to be back here soon.
