During the event, the Secretary said that by providing them with opportunities for personal and professional growth, continuously finding ways to expand the scope of their welfare and boost the management of their finances, and ensuring that their work conditions gradually improve by reviewing and simplifying systems and processes, we empower our teachers to grow into the kind of educators that they are meant to become and that our learners deserve.

Before she ended her speech, Sec. Briones showed the video that provided information of the status of Salugpongan schools found in Davao Region. She said she is hoping that the public will understand deeply the plight of the IP learners under the so called Last Mile Schools.

Meanwhile, two Teachers Got Talent contestants from Davao Region were declared winners with Teacher Cristele Rein Gonzales of Compostela Valley, Region 11 winning the Grand Champion while Cristy Anne Revamonte Cordova won 3rd runner up.

According to the report found in the press release from DepEd Central Office that this year's edition of the annual talent show, 10 teachers from Mindanao proved that their skills and talents extend beyond the four walls of the classroom. Each winner received a certificate and a plaque of recognition.

China Bank Savings, City Savings Bank and MEMBA provided the major prizes for the said annual event hosted by Region 10 under the headship of Director Arturo Bayocot, Cagayan de Oro Division led by Supt.
