THE University of Bohol (UB) asserted its might over the Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School (DCPNHS) as they clobbered the latter, 82-49, in the Juniors division of the Bohol Schools Athletic Association (BSAA) Season 9 basketball tournament at the Holy Name University (HNU) Barder Gym in Tagbilaran City on Saturday, October 5, 2019.
Horrace Morata missed out on a double-double as he had 19 points and nine rebounds along with three assists and three steals while Jessie Valeroso added 15 markers. Kim Alasco and Mark Taylaran helped out with 13 and 11 points, respectively, to push UB’s win-loss record to 4-1.
UB put away their opponents early, zooming off to a 43-19 lead at halftime, which proved enough to give them the win.
Also picking up a win was HNU, which bested the Mater Dei College, 83-80. Jhan Ampoloquio filled the stat-sheet up with his 15 points, nine boards, three dimes and three steals to help his team even up its record at 1-1.
Therryll Hora led HNU in scoring with 19 points while Ulysses Agocoy fired in 14 markers. Godwin Zamora also chipped in 11 of his own.
In the 12-under division, UB also slammed HNU, 50-39, as Rey Gurrea sizzled with 23 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. (SunStar Cebu)
