Some of the songs included in her first album as a solo artist are "I Love You Goodbye," Star Cinema's official entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival, her carrier single "I Don't Want to Fall" which was also used in Precious Hearts Romances and "Tamis ng Unang Halik" used to be “Katorse” theme song.

When asked by Sun.Star if she really wanted to do an all-original album, the singer said it was actually her dream to write and sing songs.

“Hopefully magustuhan sana ng tao, and hindi naman siguro iba yung pagtanggap ng tao sa mga original songs kasi we all love to sing. Bilang Pinoy I also like to do OPM songs and I know they will appreciate it,” she said.

Juris added: “Maganda rin talaga na OPM, para mabago din yung trend and ma-encourage yung iba to do more original songs.”

The singer at the same time appreciates that she was able to share her music and good voice with renowned composers and song writers.

“I'm very happy because I know I'm in good hands. It contains all original tracks and I'm proud of that. I have compositions by Ryan Cayabyab, Gary Valenciano, Junji Marcelo, Top Suzara, Jimmy Antiporda, Duncan Ramos and Aiza Seguerra,” she said.

Juris promises more original compositions and good music from her in the coming days.

Goodbye M.Y.M.P.

During the interview, questions were raised on the real score why she, Chin Alcantara, and the rest of the band went separate ways before 2009 ends.

According to Juris, it was irreconcilable differences. She cleared that no money is involved.

“Minsan parang may gusto akong gawin na hindi ko rin masabi sa kanya. Syempre dapat diba nag cocompromise kami, yun lang for the longest time tapos umabot na lang siguro sa point na hind ko na kaya,” she said.

“Hindi sa lahat ng araw eh mag-jive lahat ng ideas nyo, umabot lang talaga sa point na hindi na talaga magkapag compromise, di na talaga makapagkasundo," she added.

M.Y.M.P. or Make Your Momma Proud was a group formed by Chin back in their college years. They were able to produce five albums in the more than eight years of working together.

According to Juris, the separation was inevitable and that they were able to talk calmly and were able to say their goodbyes.

Chin formed again a new band as all his group mates, Juris included, left the original group.

Chin is now working with new vocalist Juliet Bahala who is from Davao City.

“Matagal na din kami nagsama, marami na din agreements, marami na ding bagay na nagkaayos, matagal na din nag compromise, magtagal na nagaadjust sa isa't-isa,” she said.

Juris, who also hails from Davao, said she's really not surprised when the news broke that a new vocalist and band members were formed to continue the group.

“Hindi naman parang nabigla ako kasi alam ko naman na maglalabas sya ng bagong singer, so eventually lalabas din sila,” she said.

The singer even said that she's very happy that another Dabawenya is making a name on the music business.

“Madami naman talagang magagaling from Davao eh kaya good na marami na din nakikilala from there,” she said.

Juris is also very confident that the public will continue to support her and the group even if they are not together.

“Sabi ko nga yung fans naman eh matatalino sila kaya naiintindihan nila kung ano man ang nangyari,” she said. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
