P180,000 shabu seized in Barangay 2

AN ESTIMATED P180,000 worth of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 2 in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City Wednesday morning, November 6, 2019.

The operation also led to the arrest of two suspected drug personalities identified as Jamil Recaido, 22, of Barangay 2, and his companion Ronell Dumali, 39, of Purok Masagana, Barangay 6, Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said the suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 1:30 a.m.

Police recovered from the suspects' possession 11 sachets of shabu, the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Pico said Recaido was identified as street level target in the area of Police Station 2. The suspects were under surveillance for almost a month before their arrest.

He said Recaido and Dumali are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 2 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Last week, almost P1 million worth of shabu was seized in various areas in Bacolod City.

Pico said they are intensifying their efforts to neutralize all the drug personalities that are operating in Bacolod City.

He said all the station commanders were reminded to double their efforts in the campaign against illegal drugs within their areas of jurisdiction.
