SENATOR Emmanuel Pacquiao will be in Bacolod City on October 17 to witness the second hometown game of Bacolod Master Sardines, the Bacolod City’s team in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).

Bacolod City Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya said Wednesday, October 9, that Pacquiao, an adopted son of Bacolod, will witness again the hometown game of Bacolod Master’s team against Cebu’s team at the University St. La Salle (USLS).

He said the first game will be the teams from Pampanga and Cavite while Bacolod and Cebu teams will play in the second game.

He added that he personally asked Senator Pacquiao if they can hold the next game in Bacolod during the time of MassKara Festival.

On September 21, Pacquiao, founder of MPBL, was in Bacolod City for the first hometown game of Bacolod Master’s team where Bacolod defeated Soccsksargen Marlins-Armor at the USLS.

Before the game, Pacquiao has shared his blessings to the people of Bacolod where he gave about P1.5 million in cash to Bacolodnons.

“I’m really thankful to Senator Pacquiao for bringing MPBL to Bacolod and for sharing his blessings to Bacolodnons for two days where I personally witnessed his compassion for the needy and sick, he’s using his personal money,” Gasataya said.

He said that Pacquaio shared his blessing to Bacolodnons in four different areas in Bacolod and people lined for hours to receive the cash.

“I witnessed his willingness to help the Bacolodnons and we are very thankful on that,” he added.

Gasataya also asked the cooperation of the Bacolodnons to support the Bacolod Master Sardines.

The Bacolod Master Sardines is composed of more than 15 players and some of them were former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) players.

Among the Bacolod Master Sardines players are Paolo Javelona, Erwilson Santos, and Arben Dionson, who are all residents of Bacolod City.
