FAST Logistics is investing more than a billion pesos to build an integrated dry and cold warehouse in Consolacion town, northern Cebu.

The Cebu-based logistics firm is eyeing to offer cold storage, dry warehouse, blast freezers, refrigerated transport and related services to its clients once the project is completed.

The cold storage can store goods such as meat and fish, as well as those needing chillers such as fruits, vegetables, dairy and baking products.

The company is betting on the storage demand from big firms as well as small and medium companies.

Manuel Onrejas, chief executive officer of Fast Services Corp., said daily rates will be offered to clients to give them the option to store their products anytime.

The integrated cold and dry warehouse is designed to have 20 rooms that have flexible temperatures to adjust to the goods’ specified room temperature requirements.

The company held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project in Tayud, Consolacion, on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019.

Fast Logistics started in the business way back 1990s as a small warehouse in port areas.

It had its first huge warehouse in Batingo, Calamba with a size of seven hectares and first catered to a big ice cream company in the Philippines.

Onrejas said Cebu is a right place for the company’s new warehouse project, citing the province’s strong economic growth.

Onrejas also added that building an integrated warehouse can help cut the spoilage count in Cebu due to the lack of warehouses.

The warehouse project in Consolacion is also expected to generate jobs for not less than 150 residents.

Fast Logistics currently owns 120 warehouses nationwide and plans to build more integrated warehouses across the country. RSR
