CDC creates crisis management office

CLARK FREEPORT -- The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) has created its Crisis Mitigation and Resilience Office (CRMO).

The office is expected to promptly mobilize personnel in preparing and responding to any situation.

Noel Manankil, CDC president and chief executive officer, and the CDC Board of Directors chaired by CDC chairman Jose De Jesus, approved the creation of CMRO.

The office is also tasked to assist locators inside the Freeport in terms crafting and implementing a crisis management program.

The CMRO will establish five operational areas that are aligned with the objectives of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRMC). These include Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Disaster Response, Disaster Preparedness, Disaster Rehabilitation and Recovery and Crisis Mitigation.

The Public Safety Division will work with the CMRO in addressing situations and the Incident Command System will be automatically activated.

The CMRO is headed by Executive Director Melanie Briones. The office will also serve as an information and communications center for the business community here during calamities.
