P340,000 shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P340,000 worth of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was seized in separate drug bust operations of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City from October 8 and 9, 2019.

The operations also led to the arrest of four drug personalities identified as Ramie Rivera, 45, of Barangay Banago; John Paul Canoy, 24, of Purok Masanag, Barangay 26; Jesmar Diane, 22, of Purok Sigay, Barangay 2; and Luigi Caponong, 22, of Barangay Tangub, all in Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Rivera was arrested by operatives of Police Station 3 after he sold a suspected sachet of shabu to a police undercover at Purok Kawayanan Barangay Banago.

He said Rivera's two companions managed to escape after sensing that they were transacting with an undercover policeman.

Police recovered from Rivera's possession six sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P300,000, the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Pico said Canoy was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 6 in Purok Mabinuligon, Barangay 30, Bacolod City at 1:05 a.m.

Police recovered from Cano's possession 12 sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P10,000, and the P300 marked money.

Diane and Caponong were also arrested by operatives of Police Station 8 in Purok Sampaguita, Barangay Singncang-Airport around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Recovered from the suspects' possession were eight sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P30,000, and the P500 marked money.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 3, 6 and 8 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
