UNIVERSITY Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) season 81 women’s volleyball champion Ateneo de Manila University (Admu) Lady Blue Eagles will test the mettle of the Davao Optima in a volleyball for a cause exhibition match on October 27 at the Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Petro Gazz Arena in Davao City.
JC Velasquez, during the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at The Annex of SM City Davao on Thursday, October 10, said the event is a joint project of Blue Athletics and Admu with support from Ateneo de Davao University.
“The Lady Blue Eagles will play against Davao Optima team in the one-day event, which is composed of veterans who are former varsity players from colleges and universities,” Velasquez said.
Gates will open at 1 p.m., he said. The preliminary game will pit San Pedro College against Addu Senior High School at 2 p.m. followed by the main Admu-Davao Optima match.
Ticket prices are P300, P500 and P1,000.
Milky Madayag, for his part, said Admu coach Oliver Almadro and his team will also spearhead a volleyball clinic slated October 26 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the seventh floor of Addu, Jacinto Street, Davao City.
“This is a chance for Dabawenyos to watch a very popular UAAP team right here in Davao,” he added.
The clinic is open to grade school and high school players.
