PUBLIC Safety Alliance for Transformation and Rule of Law Inc. (Patrol) Party-list Representative Jorge Antonio Bustos commended the personnel of Angeles City Police Office during Monday's (October 7) traditional flag raising ceremony held at Camp Lt. Tomas J. Pepito, Barangay Santo Domingo, in Angeles City.

In his speech, Bustos, who was the guest of honor and speaker, lauded and praised the hundred-strong men and women of the Angeles police force for a "very disciplined" and "snappy" rendition of their drills and marches during the flag ceremony, stating that he is honored to have witnessed such well-rehearsed presentation.

"Your snappy rendition and flawless execution could only mean that you very much prepared for this event, and for that, I am very honored and pleased to have witnessed it all," he said.

Bustos also expounded that being a former police officer himself, his congressional office and Patrol will always be open to the police and their families. He also guaranteed that he will listen and support advocacies close to them, especially those from Pampanga.

He also said they need not be afraid as long as they are telling the truth and doing what is right.

"Huwag tayong magpapadala sa mga nangyayari ngayon, lalo na patungkol sya ating hanay (Let us not be dissuaded with what is happening right now, especially in our organization). Let's keep doing our job and just keep moving forward with our sworn duties. Wala kayong dapat ikatakot, kapag wala kayong kalokohang ginagawa (You do not have to be afraid if you are not doing anything wrong). Pero pag meron, ako na ang mauunang magsabing lalabas at lalabas ang totoo, papanagutin kayo ng batas (But if you are doing something illegal, then let me be the first to tell you that the truth will always come out, and you shall be held liable)," he said.

Present in the activity were Angeles Police officials led by Officer-in-Charge Police Colonel Joyce Patrick Sangalang, officers and members of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) from Angeles City, faculty, officers and alumni from Angeles University Foundation and Patrol officers.

Bustos founded Patrol in May 2015. It was formed to promote the interests of the whole Filipino people who envision secured and peaceful communities.

Patrol members include volunteer groups and nongovernment organizations aligned toward public safety and disaster preparedness. As of the moment, it is expanding its membership to people and organizations who also have the common aspiration as Patrol's.

In a statement, Patrol said it will "work hand in hand with the PNP (Philippine National Police) and its allied agencies in pushing for policy reforms on crime prevention and disaster preparedness," all aligned to the organization's slogan "Gusto ko, safe ka!" #GustoKoSafeKa. (Chris Navarro)
