Pineda criminal group captured

TWO members of notorious Pineda carnap group were arrested in separate joint hot pursuit operations conducted by members of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Cordillera.

Joint personnel of Tuba Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Branch, Benguet Provincial Police Office, and Angeles City Police Station arrested a 28-year-old woman in the evening of October 9 on San Vicente St., Barangay Tabun, Angeles City, Pampanga.

In the afternoon of October 10, her companion identified as Brian Gomez Baesa, 34, a resident of San Jose, Angeles City, was cornered on San Martin St., Barangay San Jose.

Baesa and her lady partner are members of the "Pineda Criminal Group" involved in a series of robbery, carnapping, illegal drugs trafficking and other illegal activities operating in Angeles City and nearby municipalities.

Prior to their arrest, the two, together with their unidentified companions, robbed a house in Bayacsan, Taloy Sur, Tuba, Benguet in the morning of October 4, where they carted away personal belongings and cash amounting to more than P100,000. They fled aboard a Silver Gray AUV with plate number ABR 8097.

During the process of investigation, they were positively identified through closed-circuit television camera footage, leading to their arrest.

Both suspects are now under the custody of Tuba police, while appropriate charges are being readied against them.

Brigadier General Israel Ephraim Dickson, PRO-Cordillera director, lauded the operatives for the immediate capture of the suspects and encouraged all police personnel to double their efforts in tracking down criminal elements.
