TMC tops BIT in Bohol schools tilt

TRINIDAD Municipal College (TMC) blew away the BIT International College (Talibon), 98-53, in the Seniors division of the Bohol Schools Athletic Association (BSAA) Season 9 Basketball Tournament at the Holy Name University in Tagbilaran City on Friday, October 11.

Jason Bunado spearheaded TMC’s attack in the one-sided game as he piled up 21 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and a steal to help TMC even up its win-loss record at 3-3.

The game’s outcome was hardly ever in doubt after TMC raced off to a 45-26 lead at halftime and never looked back.

In the Juniors division, the Holy Name University (HNU) bested the PMI Colleges, 77-71, to raise its record to 3-1. Jhan Ampoloquio had a stellar ballgame with 22 points, five rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Ulysses Agocoy backed him up with 16 points while Godwin Zamora, Therryll Hora, and Caster Suaybaguio combined to score 31 markers.

PMI Colleges held a 55-50 lead going to the final canto but HNU woke up in the fourth and outscored their opponents, 25-16, to pick up the win.

Meanwhile, in the high school games on Wednesday, October 9, GreAtMinds Leadership Academy (GLA) routed the University of Bohol, 83-68, thanks to the double-double performance of Nico Loquellano who had 22 points and 14 rebounds to go with four assists and four steals.

More importantly, the win propped GLA’s record up to a clean 7-0.

The Christ the King Academy also bested the Cristal e-College, 72-68, behind Ivan Valles’ outstanding performance of 24 points, nine boards, four dimes, three steals, and three blocks. (Jonas Panerio)
