Talisay to divert buses to national highway due to festival

BUS drivers are reminded that bus and mini-buses are not allowed to pass through the South Coastal Road (SRP) on Sunday, October 13, 2019, from 12 noon to 5pm.

This is in line with the street dancing competition of the Halad Inasal Festival that will start from the Talisay City Hall and ending at the Talisay Central School in Poblacion.

While the southbound lane of the Cebu South Coastal Road (CSCR) will be open to two-way traffic and will only be intended for light vehicles and delivery trucks.

Jonathan Tumulak, head of City of Talisay Traffic Operations Development Authority (CT-TODA) reminded motorists and commuters to plan their trips beforehand as he expects that heavy traffic will be felt in the city on Sunday.

"It's better to leave early or travel by night in going to Talisay." said Tumulak Eleven contingents will participate in Halad Inasal Festival, five from the elementary division, four in the secondary division, one from Talisay City College and one from the city government.

Only the contingents from elementary and secondary will compete on the said event.

While the fluvial procession and Halad Inasal Fiesta in Talisay City will continue, despite the rainy weather.

Even the rainy weather will not stop the fluvial procession in Talisay City that would happen on Sunday, October 13.

Mikki Aznar, officer-in-charge of Talisay City Tourism Office, assured the public that based on their observation, any sea activity is safe on that day.

On Saturday, the image of Sta.Teresa de Avila was brought to the Our Lady of Consolation Parish- Recoletos in Sitio Laray, Barangay San Roque in preparation for the upcoming fluvial procession that would start at Talisay Fish Port.

The fluvial procession will then pass by the city's coastal barangays before disembarking at the beachside of Barangay Poblacion.

The participants of the fluvial procession were forewarned to follow the instructions given by the Fisheries Sea and Ecological Care (FISECA) to prevent accidents.(FROM FMD OF SUPERBALITA CEBU)
