Fashion on a Canvas

FASHION is like a canvas - what we wear is our canvas, and how we dress it up is our art work.

With this concept, canvas is what it says what it says it is - a space wherein women could use to express yourself.

This had led to the idea behind Chimes Boutiques' exclusively carried fashion label, Canvas.

From the name alone, Canvas already hints at how it is to be worn: like a blank, clean space for every Dabawenya to sport.

Canvas was launched in 2015 by Chimes, Davao's luxury shopping destination.

The concept of the fashion label is all about extremely wearable yet sophisticated pieces that follow minimalist lines with a clean finish.

Its wardrobe essentials are both classic and versatile, allowing the wearer to mix, match, and play with favorite pieces of apparel, footwear, and accessories.

Chimes chief executive officer Cindy Yap describes how the brand speaks for itself: timeless, quality, and sophisticated.

"Since we have carried Canvas, we have heard nothing but great reviews from those who have made the fashion label their fashion statement," Yap shared during its event launch on October 5 at Bondi & Bourke.

The lifestyle brand places a premium of fine tailoring and innovative construction, with keen to details as each piece is thoroughly designed and carefully constructed with creative detailing.

Yap shared Dabawenyas were receptive to Canvas' minimalist yet classic forms.

"It is an understated elegance that is extremely wearable, at the same time, a stylish statement," she said.

Canvas now welcomes its latest collection - something visual with a play of colors, with groupings comparable to three art periods.

The Renaissance set is all about linear forms and deep, rich colors in intense shades of wine and rust popping out among lush greens and deep blues.

The pieces shift towards lighter hues in softer pastels and neutrals. The styles now carry subtle hints of femininity as a nod to Renaissance woman who, in turn, also reflects the Canvas wearer - a well-rounded, sophisticated woman.

Finally, the pièce de résistance, an abstract known for its subjective stroke, inviting the viewer to see what they want to see. The same is true for the limited edition pieces in the collection - classic forms rendered in fabric splashed with abstract art patterns.

During the event, guests were also able to feel the Canvas experience as they were able to create their own Canvas fashion wear design

This is something every Dabawenyo should not miss. Canvas collection is available at Chimes Stores.
