PNP chief arrives in Bacolod today

THE embattled Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Police General Oscar Albayalde, is expected to visit the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Noppo) Monday, October 14.

Noppo Director Romeo Baleros said he believes Albayalde's reason for visiting the province is part of his tour to the various police offices in the country prior to his retirement on November 8.

Albayalde is expected to attend the flag ceremony at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr., Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City.

He is also going to lead the awarding ceremony for the police officer who was wounded in the gun battle with New People's Army rebels in Kabankalan City last week.

Albayalde has been the subject of controversy over the issue on ninja cops in the ongoing Senate investigation.
