MULTI-TITLED runner and triathlete John Philip Dueñas added another feather on his cap after winning the Danawan 50K Ultramatahon on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019 in Danao City.
Dueñas of Motor Ace Racing Team flexed his muscles on his first ever ultra marathon race, clocking in 4 hours, 25 minutes and 53 seconds to win the men’s overall title. He completely dominated the race as he posted an hour lead over the closest pursuers.
Ranie Kiamco finished second in 5:24:00 and Roel Villamor was third with a time of 5:45:45.
“It was my first ultra marathon. I joined this distance since I’m preparing for my ultra beast 50K Spartan Race,” said the long-time coach of Olympian and Southeast Asian gold medalist, Mary Joy Tabal.
Dueñas will join in the Spartan Race set on Oct. 26 in Alviera, Pampanga.
Noriebelle Bacusmo won the women’s side with a time of 6:57:47. Fe Hoffner Vin Styggenein finished second in 7:25:14 and Jasmine Capangpangan came third in 8:45:07. (RSC)
