2 nabbed in Zamboanga City anti-drug stings

LAWMEN have arrested two persons and seized P40,200 worth of substance believed to be shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Arnold Madrangca Dansalan, 34, and Abel Geduquio Masinsin, 34.

Galvez said Dansalan was arrested by the Zamboanga City Police Office's (ZCPO) Station 7 operatives in a drug bust around 12:10 p.m. Sunday, October 13, at Mass Compound in the village of Sta. Maria.

Seized from Dansalan were P30,000 worth of shabu packed in four heat-sealed plastic sachets and P200 marked money.

Masinsin, on the other hand, was arrested by the ZCPO's Police Station 10 anti-drug operatives around 8 p.m. Sunday in Purok 4 in the village of Sta. Catalina.

The arresting team recovered from Masinsin P10,200 worth of shabu packed in three heat-sealed plastic sachets and P200 marked money.

Galvez said the two were detained pending the filing of formal charges against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
