Pacete: Espenido’s war-gasm on drugs

MANY Negrosanons are already ululating as a sign of welcome for Police Lt. Colonel Jovie Espenido in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental. Do we really need an Espenido to end the proliferation of illegal drugs in our area? Is it an admission that some policemen and local officials do not have the balls to crack?

Following due process, Espenido will first see what could be given to him by the Intelligence Community (with big budget) of the PNP and local officials. Jovie could tell the cops to start the total comic strip destruction of small fishes in the dark streets, congested puroks, and loose barangays.

Some heads will roll here ... policemen, barangay officials and small traders. He can estimate the body count earlier. Because of the encouragement of Jovie, some shy policemen in the past will develop bulging pecs and gleaming torso. There will be raids in private parties and high-end beer joints.

We expect to see high-octane scenes wherein many young and beautiful children of the Negros elites are involved. They will be caught with their skirts (or pants) down while under the influence of a beer ‘with a horse that kicks’ plus some party pills with different colors giving different effects.

Jovie is now on the run with pulpier blend of James Bond and Rambo. Negrosanons and Bacolodnons will hail his charismatic leadership and an absolute but artistic ruthlessness in raiding modern mansions and heritage houses that are warehouses of illegal drugs and unlicensed firearms.

Media men will enjoy in their portmanteau reports (lots of interwoven stories with multiple characters ... politicians, persons in authority, ninja cops, prominent families, professionals, religious leaders, etc.). Jovie has a clinical eye. He will always find out how the mind-blowing events are connected to each other.

There will be the amalgamation of plots because there will be ‘moles’ in both sides, the double agents, the whistle blowers, the horse whisperers, and even the fortune tellers will join the charade. One hell of an event will be continued in the next gut-wrenching sequence.

Our bishops and pastors can only pray that the fight for drugs in Negros and Bacolod will not deliver a payload of potential death. As we welcome Jovie, we anticipate the wages of fear. We dare challenge the drug personalities now to surrender peacefully. Do not wait for a full-throttle action. For your own good, do not join in the titanic clashes!
