Barangay health worker stabbed to death

A 53-YEAR-OLD barangay health worker was stabbed to death inside her home in Pangdan, City of Naga, at Tuesday dawn, October 15, 2019.

When police found her inside her house in Sitio Isabella in the said barangay, Rosario Canda had sustained several stabbed wounds on her body. She had no clothing at the waist down.

Police Staff Sergeant Ariel Yap of the City of Naga Police Station said Canda was already dead when she was found at her home.

A witness told police officers investigating the case that hours before Canda's body was found, an unidentified man onboard a motorcycle arrived at the victim's house.

The witness said the unidentified man arrived at Canda's house at around 12 midnight and suddenly entered the house.

Canda was reportedly alone at her house as her husband was working as a construction worker in Cebu City.

Her relatives told police officers that they noticed the morning after that Canda has not left her house.

When her brother, who happens to be a village official, visited her house, he found Canda already dead inside her room and without any underwear on.

Yap said one angle they will focus on their investigation is the text messages sent to Canda by an unidentified man just before she was murdered.

Based on what they read from Canda's cellphone, it was found that the victim was planning to meet with the unidentified man.

Yap believes that the unidentified man was alleged a paramour or lover of Canda.

He also discounted the possibility that Canda was robbed just before she was murdered as her husband only left her P50 just before he left for work.

Yap said they are also looking into other possibilities. (FROM AYB OF SUPERBALITA CEBU/JKV)
