PDEA nabs drug personality

AGENTS of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) backed by policemen have arrested a target-listed drug personality in an anti-drug operation in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, an official said Tuesday, October 15.

Lawyer Jacqueline De Guzman, PDEA regional director, identified the arrested suspect as Reynaldo Reyes, 39, a construction worker and a resident of Banonong, Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte.

De Guzman said Reyes was caught in possession of two grams of substance believed to be shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P13,600 and 15 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth P1,800.

Also seized from Reyes were P3,000 marked money, a grenade and a sling bag.

The operation was conducted around 10:20 p.m. Monday in the village of Dawo, Dapitan City.

De Guzman said cases for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act (RA) 9165 and RA 9516 are being readied against the suspect, who was detained. (SunStar Zamboanga)
