E.B. MAGALONA Mayor Marvin Malacon said that the town has 80 percent compliance on road clearing.
Malacon clarified the report announced by the Department of Interior and Local Government giving the municipality a low compliance rating was based on a report two weeks ago.
“Recognizing the need to comply not just because it is an order from the President but we need to find permanent solution for our informal settlers and those that are at disaster prone areas,” the mayor said.
Malacon pointed out that road clearing and widening is a must today because of the development around.
“A new port and market among others need infrastructure support. A program that this administration has been working prior to DILG administrative order on road clearing,” he said.
“We likewise take consideration, human as we are to our constituents who cannot immediately comply. Interventions are ongoing,” Malacon said. (TDE)
